dropped Spanish class last year so this will continue in English.  I’m a senior at Schalmont High School this year.  You can usually find me sprinting around the school on my next mission for yearbook or the senior class (I currently serve as President).  In my off time I am usually: swimming, swimming or occasionally swimming.  I’ve been a competitive swimmer for eight years now and could probably say it has made me who I am.  This year I am the captain of my Varsity Swim Team (Mohonasen-Schalmont) and am anxious to further my swimming career in college.  Along with swimming, I also run track for Schalmont High in the spring.  I happen to have a deep, burning love for art as well.  I dabble in photography and currently work as a photographer for a studio in Albany.  Not only do I take photographs as a job, I also do a lot of work on my own.  My online portfolio can be found at http://aqueoustransmission1.deviantart.com/. When I’m not doing all of these things, I enjoy scooting around Rotterdam in my VW Beetle Bug and the occasional shopping spree.  My favorite show is Sex and the City, and if I could major in anything in college it would probably be Carrie Bradshaw 101.  Unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck finding a school with this so I will likely settle for something in the field of public relations or corporate communications.  I am currently considering Ithaca College, Northeastern University and Penn State.

Story Title

My name is Samantha Brierley.  One thing you will notice about me is that I love music: playing it, writing it and listening to it. I play guitar, piano and keyboard. I have also attended several concerts. My newest obsession with Bombers Burrito Bar has left me begging my friends to bring me there on Friday nights. My wallet is sometimes empty because I splurge on the latest fashion, Starbucks Frappuccinos, or at Borders Books and Music. I love doing volunteer work and photography in my free time (when I have any!). I hope that New Visions: Journalism and Media Studies will help me develop my love for photography and help me discover what I want to do and where I want to go with writing. I'm a senior at Watervliet High School, and when I graduate, I hope to attend Marist College.
